I think of incest as more of a genre, and different pairings are different subgenres
in the same sense that I consider cousins and siblings to be relatively similar subgenres, I think non blood related cousin incest could still be an incest anime
is it the living together part that makes is incest then?
I think its the familial closeness, living together is a good way to acomplish that
so are all the compulsory marriage shows also incest?
I think it requires them to have an understanding that they are family
so I think the loosest you could have is two people who really have no familial connection, but essentially accept that they are basically brother and sister
