well yeah, to game. but I dont need 4k

I just want a standard PC i can build that will be able to handle new games coming out for the next few years

my 5 year old $1600 can handle everything i've tried still so $1200 should be more than enough

The graphics card is the big money sink right now (unfortunately) but it scales pretty linearly with what you want to do

I guess cost depends on what you mean on handle

spend $400+ on the graphics card

do AMD for cpu

1200 is way more tahn enough

Rest of the components can be had for 300-500

get an SSD of at least 500 GB

Then the graphics card is where you dump whatever is left that you want to spend

800~ would last fine and handle almost every game on good settings, can always sink more money into stuff later too

you can get a hybrid drive of 4TB for like $80

I'll give you a couple recommendations later when I'm not surrounded by furries

You can go the pre-built route like Pika did, if that's more appealing

all you need is a screw driver- and the abilitiy to be careful

The second part is why I do not build my own pcs

you probably want 16 GB of RAM minimum, a good AMD processor, 2 PCI slots, a case with extra USB ports, mid range graphics card, lots of fans that fit in your case, maybe a bluray writer

last time I needed to be careful was a chem lab and I spilled 10M HCl on myself
