Why do they make highschoolers do this retarded shit?
With young kids it makes sense, but it just looks dumb when it's 17 and 18 year olds
What the hell
For evacuating the school
Keeps them organized
I guess
But like, why the arms, why not just single file
In a hectic situation it keeps them together
Some of them are 18
Better to do it than not
I can't imagine a scenario where I would ever do something that retarded
I'm sure they're very concerned about looking their age when someone just killed 17 of their fellow classmates
It's not out of a concern for looking their age, it's just a dumb thing to do
In a life or death situation it's better to follow protocol than let them do whatever
No, it literally isn't
The last thing you want is some hysterical girl losing her shit
Normalcy is far better for them
And this is after the shooter's been detained and they're just clearing the school
They don't know the whole situation
At this point, they do
Until everyone is out of the school they have to follow protocol
They do not remove people from the building until it's been cleared
This is them clearing
Thus, it's been deescalated
shrug it's protocol man
I'm not gonna argue with the people trained to do this stuff
And I'm saying, there's no reason for high schoolers to do it
They're not forced to or anything
It's not even done outside of k-3 normally, for fire/lockdown drills
I mean sure, okay
Like idk, we're not there. We can't know why they're having people do something or not
If it's not hurting anyone, I don't see why it's dumb.
The reason you have young children do the safety Congo line is so that they don't wander off, and the teacher/leader can make a judgement about where to lead them if the needs/situation change
That is it's purpose, and it does it's purpose well, especially at a young age when kids can get overwhelmed
Maybe they have the high schoolers do it because it's traumatic for them and better safe than sorry
That's the thing though, there's neither a benefit or drawback to doing it, there is no "better safe than sorry"
It's done because the very public pictures of Newton are on every teachers minds, and they think that is what they are supposed to do
Well better to have order then if that's what they think should be done
It looks stupid, which is what I said initially, and I'm not hating on you or saying it's harmful, it is just a stupid thing to have 18 year olds do
Order is saying "single file line, follow me to our designated area"
Directions which 18 year olds can follow
Alright whatever, it's not that big a deal anyways
spooky
I saw, well done Rusp
