I liked a lot more of the pokemon in gen 3 to be honest

Also Colosseum

compared to gen 4 and up

and evs and ivs

And abilities

and weather

evs and ivs mean literally nothing unless you are playing something like blaze black or doing online competative

And the Pokemon fit the area really well like they belonged there.
